The hit mid 2000’s medical sitcom, Scrubs, announced it was being revived for a new series. The new series will see many of the original cast members return including Zach Braff (J.D), Donald Faison (Turk), Sarah Chalke (Elliot), Judy Reyes (Carla), and John C McGinley (Dr. Cox). The new series will also include new cast members Vanessa Bayer and Joel Kim Booster.
But ABC has just recently announced when we will see the return to Sacred Heart and it’s sooner than many will have expected. Scrubs will be returning to air ways on the 25th of February, 2026. On the topic of the newest season of the hit medical show ABC have said:
“JD and Turk scrub in together for the first time in a long time: Medicine has changed; interns have changed; but their bromance has stood the test of time. Characters new and old navigate the waters of Sacred Heart with laughter, heart, and some surprises along the way.”
The show originally ran for seven seasons (with an added spin-off eighth season we never talk about) and helped find some incredible talent both on and off screen. One of those talents off-screen talents was the shows creator Bill Lawrence who has had an incredible career since the shows departure which include hit shows like Cougar Town, Ted Lasso, and Shrinking. Lawrence is set to return to Scrubs as well and after his experience creating the Emmy winning shows such as Shrinking and Ted Lasso, I eagerly await what he will bring to this revival.
