Uma Thurman Joins Charlize Theron In “The Old Guard 2”

Netflix has shared the first trailer for “The Old Guard 2,” the highly anticipated sequel to the 2020 surprise action-fantasy hit about a team of immortal warriors.

In this new chapter, Andy (Charlize Theron) and her team return, reinvigorated in their mission to safeguard the world. However, challenges abound. With Booker (Matthias Schoenaerts) still in exile following his betrayal and Quynh (Veronica Ngô) seeking vengeance after escaping her underwater prison, Andy faces a personal crisis, her newfound mortality. Meanwhile, a looming, mysterious threat emerges, putting everything she has fought for over millennia at risk.

The group turn to an old ally who may hold the key to unlocking the secrets of immortal existence.

This time round, Uma Thurman takes on the role of the villain, a formidable immortal who may be deeply connected to the origins of the group’s powers.

Directed by Victoria Mahoney, with a screenplay by Greg Rucka and Sarah L. Walker based on the graphic novel by Rucka and Leandro Fernandez, the film promises to expand the rich mythology established in the first installment. Gina Prince-Bythewood, director of the original film, returns as a producer alongside Charlize Theron, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Marc Evans, Beth Kono, and A.J. Dix.
