More Officers In The Ranks

Another batch of police recruits graduated at the Academy in Hobart today.

The 19 officers will be stationed across the state.

Police Minister Felix Ellis notes the force has grown by 30% in the past decade.

“These new graduates have completed an intensive 28-week course to successfully reach graduation day and achieve their dream of becoming a police officer,” Minister Ellis said.

“After honing their policing skills, our new constables will jump straight into our 24-hour Police stations and bolster our frontline.

“From surf life savers to customer service officers, our new graduates have come from all walks of life, bringing valuable perspectives that reflect the community they will serve.”
