Tasmania’s active Coronavirus numbers have dropped below 1,000 for the first time since the New Year.
Public Health is monitoring 960 active cases statewide, with 471 of those recorded in the South.
The news follows 166 new infections found in the past 24 hours.
24 Covid-positive patients are in hospital statewide, eight patients are being treated specifically for symptoms.
One person is being cared for in the ICU.
92 people are using the COVID@homeplus program.
The current risk of Covid-19 in the community is moderate.
Premier Jeremy Rockliff is reminding Tasmanians of the importance of reporting positive test results.
Locals who test positive for Coronavirus can register your test here, or by calling the Public Health Hotline on 1800 671 738 to ensure you have access to COVID@homeplus if you require it, as well as access to anti-viral medications if you are eligible.
In the meantime, Public Health has recommended wearing a mask in all indoor public places and on public transport, and in other settings, if you can’t physically distance.
Masks must still be worn in all our public hospitals.
