Thousands of car and bike enthusiasts from all over the state, as well as interstate, are expected to flock to Devonport on Sunday for what is now the State’s biggest motor show.

The Searoad Devonport Motor Show is now in its 18th year and with 550 exhibits is now also the biggest in the state.

The event will be held from 9 am to 3 pm at Aikenhead Point and is being co-ordinated by the Rotary Club of Devonport North.

This year’s special theme is celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Ford Mustang, with 47 of the iconic Blue-Oval model entered for the show.

Just to keep it balanced, a group of 23 Holden Torana XU-1s from the mainland will also be on show, as well as two Formula One Brabham cars.

Two-wheel enthusiasts will also be catered for with a number of motorcycles on display, including a V8-powered bike from Melbourne and one of only two Factory Works Kawasaki SR 380s in the world.

The prestigious best in show award has been named the Mac Russell Memoria Award in honour of the founder of the event who passed away in June last year.
