Budding short film makers across the North-West Coast are being encouraged to enter the Weindorfer Short Film Festival, to be held on April 3rd at Wilmot.
The film festival is part of the annual Weindorfer Day, honouring the memory of Cradle Mountain pioneers Gustav and Kate Weindorfer, who settled in the area in the early 1900s and whose legacy left an indelible mark on Tasmania’s natural heritage.
The film festival is dedicated to showcasing films which explore the profound influence of the Weindorfers on Cradle Mountain and the Tasmanian environment.
The festival is open to established professionals and emerging filmmakers, catering for five-minute films in open, under 19, and under 12 categories.
Finalists will receive recognition, mentorship, and the chance to have their film featured at the Weindorfer Memorial Day.
Lead-in film making workshops will be held for 11-14 year-olds and under 15 year-olds at Sheffield on March 9 and 10, as well as at Ulverstone on March 11th.
