Coast to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice

Communities across the North-West and West Coasts are gearing up for Thursday’s commemoration of the 109th anniversary of the ANZAC landing at Gallipoli.

A total of 17 ANZAC Day ceremonies will be held in centres large and small across the region, with 15 of them also including dawn services.

Only Forth and North Motton will have stand alone singular observances at 9am and 2 pm respectively.

Smithton, Stanley and Marrawah will hold dawn and morning services in the Circular Head area, while commemorations on the West Coast will be in Queenstown and Zeehan.

Services will also be held in Burnie, Devonport, Ulverstone, Latrobe, Port Sorell, Penguin, Railton, Sheffield, Somerset and Wynyard.

Details of all services are on the RSL Tasmania website, as well as local council websites and Facebook pages, which also have details on road closures due to ceremonies and parades.
