Two Coastal producers have been recognised in the first categories of the Royal Tasmanian Fine Food Awards to be awarded this year.
Baked goods, preserves pantry items and sweet and spicy were judged over three days last week, with entries being received from as far afield as Queensland and Western Australia.
Rocky Gardens Fine Food at Port Sorell was named champion for the baked products category for its rich brandy fruit cake, while Australian Honey Products at Sheffield was awarded reserve champion honey for its Cradle Mountain Tasmanian Organic Leatherwood Honey.
The next section of the fine food awards will be for cider, to be judged on May 9th, with hopes again high for some North-West success.
