Coronavirus death toll climbs

Tasmania has recorded another three Coronavirus-linked deaths in the past 24 hours.

A woman and a man, both in their 60s have passed away in the North of the State.

A woman in her 80s has also passed away in the North West.

Their deaths take the state’s covid-linked toll to 159 since the pandemic began.

Public Health is reporting 650 new infections overnight.

The figure is a slight jump from 455 yesterday, and 527 the day before.

84 hospital patients have Coronavirus, 25 of those people being treated specifically for symptoms.

Two people are being cared for in the ICU.

398 people are using the COVID@Homeplus program.

Authorities are monitoring 4,042 active cases statewide, with more than half of those cases in the South.

There are 920 active cases in the North and another 798 in the North West.
