The East Devonport medical Centre GP Clinic is back in operation.
The clinic closed in January after being unable to attract enough doctors, leaving around 6000 patients without a doctor.
A concerted effort by the local community, Devonport City Council, State Government and stakeholders has seen the practice saved, re-opening now as My Clinic Plus East Devonport.
Health Minister Guy Barnett says the outcome is what the East Devonport community deserves and a pleasingly positive outcome.
While the practice was in limbo, the State Government provided free transport to two other Devonport GP clinics, which will now cease.
Mr Barnett says the positive outcome is due to the State Government stepping in where the Federal Government has failed to provide an adequate level of primary healthcare.
