Firearms reportedly seized in George Town raid

Tasmania Police have seized a significant amount of property, after a search in Tasmania’s North.

Launceston CIB executed the search warrant at a George Town residence on August 16th, 2021.

It’s reported officers seized:

  • 10 firearms including rifles, shotguns, pistols and an illegal gel blaster,

  • Stolen property relating to a number of burglaries in the local area,

  • Methylamphetamine and cannabis,

  • A large amount of fireworks held without a permit.

A 39-year-old man has been arrested and charged with firearms, drugs and property offences relating to that property.

The George Town man will appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court.

In the meantime, investigations continue into a string of burglaries in the George Town area.
