Australia’s oldest operating single malt whisky distillery in Burnie, is to be floated as a public company.
Hellyer’s Road was established in 1997 is inviting investors big and small to buy shares in a bid to raise $4.8 million in funds.
CEO Derek Charge says the business, which currently has 138 shareholders, is well established with a strong base and highly successful brand.
Mr Charge says Hellyer’s Road holds around 90 per cent of whisky in Australia aged 18 years or older, with a bond store of more than 5,700 barrels.
The site also includes a modern high-capacity distillery, high speed bottling line, cellar door sales and a restaurant.
The offer will open on May 7th and close on May 27th if not fully subscribed before then.
