Launceston’s CBD has been acknowledged in a national awards programme
The centre of Tasmania’s northern city is a finalist in three categories of the Mainstreet Australia Awards.
Running for more than 20 years, the awards honour the achievements of the people, programs and organisations involved in the functioning of Australia’s main streets.
One of the categories where Launceston is a finalist is ‘Best regional main street or town centre’.
Executive Officer Amanda McEvoy expressing her delight Launceston’s Central City’s work being recognised.
“Activating and promoting central Launceston is the core of what we do, so we are thrilled to have our efforts recognised by Mainstreet Australia,” she said.
Winners will be announced in Melbourne on Friday May 19.
