The one million dollar repair job on the Splash Devonport Aquatic Centre’s indoor pool is continuing on schedule.
The Devonport Council closed the 25 metre indoor pool for repairs to tiles at the start of the outdoor pool season so locals still had somewhere to swim.
The indoor pool has been closed several times for repairs since opening in 2014, with the last inspection revealing complete replacement of the tiles was the only option to prevent further damage.
The council says the repairs are on schedule to be completed by the end of the outdoor season at the end of March.
Despite the closure of the indoor pool, there’s been no noticeable increase in outdoor pool use, with the council saying attendance figures are tracking with previous summers.
