Sporting and recreational facilities on the North-West will be the big winners if the Liberal State Government gets re-elected on March 23rd.
In addition $25 million promised for the final funding component of the $60 million Devonport Sports Precinct Mater Plan, the Liberals have promised upgrades to facilities in all seven Coastal municipalities.
In addition to the Sports Master Plan funding, Devonport will also receive funds for new fencing and a covered grandstand for junior soccer.
Meanwhile, the Burnie City Council will receive $400,000 to resurface the deteriorating surfaces at the Burnie Netball Courts, and $100,000 for a feasibility study to redevelop the Upper Burnie Basketball Stadium.
Other Coastal projects will include a new synthetic green for the Latrobe Bowls Club, a new bus for the Burnie Surf Life Saving Club, new shading for the popular Somerset all-abilities playground, and a $350,000 upgrade for the Smithton Recreation Ground.
