A development application for the proposed $60 million new Devonport Sports Stadium precinct is expected to be lodged this week or next.
The State Government confirmed its $25 million contribution in last week’s state budget, to go along with $25 million from the Federal Government and $10 million from the council.
A public information session on the proposal earlier this week was well attended and Devonport Mayor Alison Jarman says there could be more once the development application becomes public.
Councillor Jarman says some residents are concerned about parking, but the proposal include 365 car parking spaces without impacting on nearby existing.
The current Devonport Football Clubrooms will be relocated as part of the project, with the clubrooms to make way for additional parking.
