A woman’s set to be charged in Hobart today after menacing police with a machete near St Helens.
Officers responded to an armed person alert at the Dianas Basin campsite late on Monday night.
A woman approached them brandishing a machete before she was pepper sprayed and fled into nearby bush.

Campers were evacuated from nearby sites and heavily-armed SOG units, drones and a helicopter were scrambled as police negotiated with the woman.
The 28-year-old was arrested safely at about 5 am on Tuesday.
