Tasmania’s trout fishing season opens tomorrow, Saturday August 1 – with the state government and Inland Fisheries Service running their annual Tagged Trout promotion.
The first tagged trout caught from the Great Lake will net the angler $25,000 – all other tagged trout caught within the promotion period will get anglers a $5,000 bonus.

To be eligible to catch a prize winning trout you must hold a current freshwater angling license – or if under 14 have permission from your parent or guardian.
