Police are seeking assistance from the public to identify a man whose body washed ashore at Tranmere on Sunday May 21st.
The body was spotted at the foreshore early in the afternoon – after some enquiries, investigators were unable to determine his identity.
Police say the man is of Sri Lankan or similar appearance. He is of slight build and believed to be aged between 18-25. He was wearing black trainers with white soles, black jeans, a dark green t-shirt with a pink and blue rodeo emblem on the front, and a black puffer jacket. He was not carrying any form of identification.
Medical examinations are being conducted to determine the cause of death, but at this stage there is nothing to indicate suspicious circumstances.
Due to the inaccessible area where the body was found, police believe he may have fallen into the water at another location.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 131 444.
